Needs

No one in the world can give us anything. What you possess are the very things you earned for yourself.

And it is not all about having bills and coins, it’s about how we think, how we feel, and ultimately the person we are turning into.

Times change, people change. After 40 years from now, you will look back and laugh at yourself. Not because you were being foolish, but simply because you can. Because then, you will be finally free, you no longer need to act like someone to get something or be with somebody for any reason.

It is our own dependencies which shackle us, and lead us to unwanted situations. If we are content with ourselves, then there is nothing we need from others.

The best thing Delhi has taught me

You create your own universe as you go along. – Paulo Coelho

I remember my days in Delhi.

Delhi is the National Capital Region of my country. We also call it the heart of our country, not just in terms of its geographical location, but also for its very welcoming culture.

Delhi is located at the center of 7 different states, each with a unique culture, language and attitude. It is sometimes hard to keep up with the accents and all, However, being in such a mixed culture comes with an added advantage : you can truly be yourself!

Because you never need to learn a particular language, or act in some typical attitude, the best option you have is to just behave as yourself. The famous line saying “While in Rome, Behave like Romans”, fails in Delhi. Instead, “Wherever you go, Retain yourself”.

That is what Delhi has taught me. I still try to follow that.

Thanks for reading.
